First off, I would just like to say that this is the very first time I have decided to come out of my shell and decode some theories based on some of the games I enjoy. I will admit that I have been watching and reading some theories on Youtube and on the FNAF wikia, but I was bummed over the fact that people have not figured out what the fourth game is all about. So I have decided to try and shed some light to the tale.

(Please note that what I am analyzing is all just some speculation.)

Theory-The Big brother is Jeremy Fitzgerald

Have any of you ever thought of how big of a role the horror movies and stories make out of the protagonists? How dark some of their pasts are? From what I know about some horror movies that have sequels, almost about every one of them the hero keeps going throughout the series until whatever he/she is facing is sent back to where they came from. For example: Alice in the Resident Evil movies, Andy from Child's Play (In about some of the movies except the fourth and fifth one) So who in Five Nights at Freddy's is a reoccurring protagonist that is tasked to finish off the deed? I believe that it is Jeremy. I am probably more convinced that he is also the one that finishes the deed in the third game.

Nothing is ever mentioned about what Jeremy was like as a child but I remember that when you first start the second game, you hear that Jeremy is just starting his 'new summer job' at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. It made me wonder a few things, did he just finish college and apply for the job? Or is it after graduating from high school? Scott C. didn't give us the full detail of what Jeremy's school education was like, so I am just going to take a wild guess and say that he got the job after graduating from high school. One of the things that made me think that it could be Jeremy is the fact that he and the big brother have a fascination with masks, but they use it for different reasons. Jeremy uses the Freddy mask to hide from the robots and the brother uses it to scare his little brother.  My guess is that some time after the accident with his brother occurred, the older brother didn't like the Foxy mask anymore, for it symbolized the suffering of his little brother and he didn't want to expose himself to any more of that.  When he got older and got himself the job, he has no other choice but to wear the Freddy mask to hide himself from the animatronics.

Another is that the big brother is probably the closest one in age to apply for a job, of course the other three friends of his would be at that age too but I will focus on Jeremy and only him. I firmly believe that over the span of time between 1983 and 1987 (Yes I firmly believe that the fourth game takes place in 1983.), he probably is the one that started the whole series. I can probably guess that his three friends might be the other guards as well,(My guess is that Mike is probably the boy in the freddy mask and Fritz is the one with Bonnie's mask, the boy with Chica's mask might be the one guard that changed to the day shift job in the second game, but I don't really know until Scott decides to shed some light on that.) but I don't know for sure if it is them, I am just taking a wild crazy guess because who else can get the animatronics to get more aggressive each time they survive another night. If I am right that would mean Jeremy survived about twenty nights total throughout the game series. (8 nights in the fourth game, 6 in the second game, and 6 in the third game.)

In case you guys don't like the one theory I have, I have another one up my sleeve, just let me know what you think. I like discussions with FNAF theories. If you see something I missed, let me know in the comments and I will correct it.
I have seen theories about FNAF 4 being nothing but a Dream Theory or something else and I am just sick of seeing how stuck some people are in trying to unlock what is hidden in the game.  Hopefully what I have here is going to be good and something different to the table.  If any one of you had this theory and I accidentally stole it, I apologize for stealing your idea. :o (Eek)   Again, I like simple discussions with theories pertaining to the game series.  This theory came to me while I was listening to a FNAF 4 song called "Too Far".

Other theories I will discuss:
1.  The Child in fnaf 4 is Nightmare  and what purpose the animatronic has in the game
2.  The whole series is of the big brother trying to find redemption for his little brother.
3.  Is the 5th child the crying child in fnaf 4?
4.  My theory of FNAF 4 as a whole.

There might be more but I will have to see when I get done with the main four I have on my list.

Be warned, if you decide to be mean in the comments about the theory, I will hide them.

The game of FNAF belongs to Scott C.

I believe that Mike (I can't spell the longer version of that name, sorry. -w-") is the older brother. Since the character you play as dies, so he can't be Mike. And William Afton (Purple guy) only has 2 sons and a dead daughter and wife, so that's why I think the older brother is actually Mike. -w-
